Hilversum - 'It has almost become a tradition that Sinterklaas stays overnight in Museum Hilversum,' says enthusiastic museum director Fleur van Muiswinkel. 'For an extra warm welcome, we call on all children to help decorate the bedroom. This year we want to make an extra fun photo surprise for the good saint, but drawings and crafts are also welcome.' The Sinterklaas Room is open to everyone free of charge from Nov. 18 through Dec. 5.

'On the weekend of Saturday, Nov. 18, and Sunday, Nov. 19, instant photos will be taken. One to take home and one for a surprise painting for St. Nicholas. You can also hang your drawing in the bedroom," Van Muiswinkel said. But you don't have to wait that long, because starting Friday, Nov. 10, the red mailbox for drawings will be in front of the museum again. 'These drawings will get a nice place.'

Lots to do

Even if St. Nicholas is not here, there are many things to do. For example, there is a craft table where children can make beautiful decorations, leave a nice message or draw in the big book, browse around in his room, and see the photo exhibition about St. Nicholas. Every young visitor gets a coloring page to take home. 'Nice for in the shoe, but of course you can also bring it back colored', Muiswinkel says. 'That way the bedroom becomes extra cozy not only for St. Nicholas but also for all (young) visitors.' For school classes and groups, there is a possibility to book a meeting with St. Nicholas.
